joanie met her twin. mixte love ensued.

this past sunday a few friends and i were going about our sunday routine to the farmer's market and to get chocolate cherry bread from our local co-operative bakery. i can write sentences like that because i live in san francisco.

anyway, as we passed the de young museum on our way to these aformentioned places, i saw the most beautimous thing i've ever seen. a pristine twin to my dear joanie baby.



light was not totally on my side that day, but i did what i could.



i left a love note.


and gasped in (sort of mock) horror when i saw this beauty was locked up with a CABLE LOCK! i wrote on the note for the person to pleaseplease get a ulock. note that person also has the same helmet as me. WHO IS THIS PERSON?!



i left my calling card so they knew i was serious. maybe they are reading today?



i've modified joanie quite a bit from the drop down bars when i got her, but i made her undeniably MINE. i ride her every day and i love her dearly. by extension, i love her twin dearly as well.

ay. heard of the large earthquake in mexico today. seems to be minimal damage thus far according to various news sources.

so we just want to send a little love from our shake-prone part of the world over to guerrero and DF.

Raleigh Love Child

While my Batavus is turning Asian, my S.A.M. is most certainly looking a little hippie these days.

Funny how bicycles end up with personalities. A man I know talks about bicycles as less personal objects, but I have never been so sure that American's are ready for that step. We like to anthropomorphize just about everything, much like the Japanese seem to really enjoy making sure everything has really great packaging.

i've got a case of the baskets

i love my basket. most people i know who have them do as well. here's some i've seen over town the past couple of months.

milk crates TOTES count as baskets. this one was on her way to work.

friday night lights

owner of this basket really likes the theater enough to leave bike outside while watching an awesome play unfold inside. (it seriously was one of the best plays i've seen, if it comes your way, please go and catch a performance.)
